James W. Kershaw, O.D.

Dr. Kershaw completed his undergraduate education and doctorate degree in Optometry at The Ohio State University. He has been president of the Optometry Alumni Society at Ohio State and served as an advisor to the University on their Alumni Council. In that capacity, he contributed on issues such as student diversity, campus development and Ohio Stadium design. 

He is certified by the International Board of Examiners in Optometry in diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. Dr Kershaw has been engaged in private practice since 1976 with an emphasis on contact lenses and management of anterior eye diseases. He has completed clinical research projects for all the major contact lens and solution manufacturers. In addition, he is an advisor to HOYA North America, a spectacle lens manufacturer, and Johnson & Johnson.

He and his wife Janet, reside in Westlake. They have two adult children. Their son practices law in Atlanta. Their daughter works in management at a Cleveland television station.

In his time away from the office, Dr. Kershaw enjoys travel and photography.

 Alex J. Szabo, O.D.

Dr. Szabo is a 1972 graduate of West Tech High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Cleveland State University in 1976, and his Doctorate of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1981. He is a member of the American, Ohio, and Cleveland Optometric Associations, and is also a member of the Epsilon Psi Epsilon Professional Optometric Fraternity, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Fraternity.  Dr. Szabo has been with the practice since 1997, before which he was on the medical staff of HMO Health Ohio in Cleveland for 13 years. His professional interests include practicing full scope, comprehensive eye care, with emphasis on disease detection and management, and contact lenses. He is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular diseases. In his spare time Dr. Szabo enjoys reading, music, and playing golf. He resides in North Royalton with his wife Peggy, and has a son, Ryan, who currently resides in Marysville, Ohio.
